FAQ
What is a Fujifilm Recipe Reader?
A tool that extracts film simulation recipe settings from Fujifilm JPEG photos by reading the EXIF MakerNote metadata. It reveals 14 parameters including Film Simulation mode, White Balance, Dynamic Range, Grain Effect, Color Chrome settings, and more. Processed locally in your browser — no upload required.
How do I extract film simulation settings?
Open the Recipe Reader, drag and drop a Fujifilm JPEG (or click to browse), and the tool instantly extracts all 14 parameters from the EXIF MakerNote data. You can then copy or share the recipe. The photo must be an original, unedited JPEG.
Which cameras are supported?
All 50+ Fujifilm models that embed film simulation data in EXIF MakerNote, including X100VI, X100V, X-T5, X-T4, X-S20, X-H2, X-Pro3, X-E4, GFX100S, and more.
Is it safe? Does it upload my photos?
Completely safe and privacy-first. No images are uploaded to any server. All EXIF parsing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript.
Why does it say "No Fujifilm recipe data found"?
The photo is likely not an original Fujifilm JPEG, or was edited/re-saved by software that stripped the MakerNote metadata. Social media platforms also remove EXIF data. Use the original file from your camera or SD card.
Web tool vs FUJISTYLE app?
The web tool offers 2 free extractions. The FUJISTYLE app (iOS & Android) provides unlimited recognition, recipe saving, one-tap camera import, 1,000+ community recipes, and professional film frames.
